Build in 3D, then play it.

Build a scene from simple shapes, light it like a film set, then press Play and run around it. No code. Each time you add something, Hey Make suggests the next step.

Ten features. Locked.

Everything you need to build a world and play it.

A new feature only gets in by replacing a weaker one, so every button earns its place.

  1. 01

    Shapes

    • Box, cylinder, sphere, cone and plane.
    • Move, turn and size them with handles. Snap to 0.1, 0.25, 0.5 or 1 m.
    • Shapes slide along surfaces: they climb onto things and drop off edges.
    • New shapes stack on the one you picked, and the size in metres shows as you stretch.
  2. 02

    Edit shape

    • Pull points, edges and faces with keys 1, 2 and 3.
    • Extrude a face to grow new parts, like a ramp from a box.
  3. 03

    Holes

    • Switch any shape to Hole and press Cut it out.
    • Make doors, windows and tunnels, like in Tinkercad.
  4. 04

    3D text

    • Names, signs and titles as solid letters, in 11 free fonts, up to two lines.
    • Bold, rounded edges, thickness, or lying flat.
    • Use the Glow material for a neon sign.
  5. 05

    Colours and materials

    • Any colour, plus Plain, Glass (real see-through glass) and Glow.
    • Photo textures from your own pictures.
    • A Library of ready assets and materials.
  6. 06

    Lights

    • Point and spot lights, with shadows, softness and glow.
    • Spot lights can shine through patterns: a window, blinds, leaves, dappled light, stars, or your own picture.
  7. 07

    Sky and sun

    • Daylight, and time of day from sunrise to evening.
    • HDR skies, so a real place lights your scene. Free ones at polyhaven.com.
    • A floor that catches shadows, plus soft glow and shading.
  8. 08

    Game rules, no code

    • Tag any shape Solid, Deadly, Checkpoint, Goal or Mover for moving platforms.
    • Add a Player start.
  9. 09

    Play

    • Press Play (or P) to run and jump through your scene, with the final lighting.
    • Keyboard on computers. A thumb stick and Jump button on phones and tablets.
    • A timer, checkpoints and a “Level complete” screen.
  10. 10

    Save, share and export

    • A picture (square, wide or tall) or a spinning GIF, ready for social posts, with a small heymake mark you can turn off.
    • A .heymake file holds the whole scene, for handing work in or out.
    • Models for Blender, Unity, Unreal and Substance Painter, with materials and textures.
